Pros

Health and dental benefits, RRSP contributions, and paid vacation are better.

Cons

The leadership and governing structure at Pathways is opposite to the communities it serves. To me it seems like there is willful negligence in recognizing the blindspots the organization has, with the realities of poverty being completely ignored in an effort to quantify impact through accelerated expansion. The culture at Pathways Canada, in my experience, is extremely toxic and mentally taxing. Gaslighting and abuse of power were commonplace during my time there, with little to no accountability for managers and directors when they mistreated and took advantage of junior staff members. From what I've observed, POC are systematically made to leave through constructive dismissal, and it seems that white preservation remains the the unspoken mandate behind the leadership team at Pathways Canada. Stories from the Program and its' beneficiaries can also come off as exploitative, with students and alumni sometimes expressing that they feel abused and pressured to provide "poverty porn" without informed consent about the implications of sharing inflated stories on their personal and professional relationships. For anyone wishing to work in a safe, inclusive environment, here's a general tip: you can support the mission without supporting unethical leadership and work culture. There is no place to grow and there is no freedom of speech. Please note that the above review is my opinion and lived experience with Pathways Canada.
