Pros

Decent base, cell phone allowance and laptop to work with. Products are okay.

Cons

This is the absolute honest truth from someone that gave all they had to the sales position. Don't believe any postive reviews on here, they are placed by marketing to try an redeem themselves. All of the negative reviews are absolutely truthful. Job security on a day by day basis, one day your golden, the next day your on the chopping block. No loyalty for anyone working their life away for them. You are just a number. Awesome salespeople I know were recruited out of their current sales position to Paycor, then were fired at Paycor 2 months later. Set you up with an easy "ramp up" to make you feel good and then pile on the impossible quota. No discounting your price whatsoever. Lose commissions and sales quota revenue toward your goal if a client leaves in less than 6 months, even when it's not your fault! If a client decides not to start their service with Paycor, they subtract that from your sales and will fire you if it takes you below the 80% of quota mark. Training is absolutely terrible, must train yourself. Sales support could careless about you and actually hurt more then they help Unrealistic sales goals, which are designed by someone who has never sold a day in their life. Give blanket quotas for everyone, doesn't matter where you are. Highest turnover rate I have ever seen in a company. Only known in Cincinnati Ohio, don't expect brand recognition or product recognition in any other city/state. Say they believe in work/life balance but give a hard time when you want to go on a well deserved vacation. You will constantly feel "burnt out". Recruiters "sell" you the job based on what you want to hear.

Pros

Paycheck hits on time every two weeks.

Cons

I wanted to like working at Paycor. The product has potential and the pitch during the interview process sounded promising. But the reality of day-to-day life here is a far cry from what's advertised. Micromanagement is rampant. Leadership tracks every minute of your day — from login times to bathroom breaks — yet somehow trusts no one to make even the smallest decision independently. You're treated like a number, not a professional. There's zero autonomy, and any attempt to take initiative is quickly shut down. The leadership team is deeply out of touch. Many managers got their roles through tenure, not merit, and it shows. They struggle to answer basic questions about the industry, lean on buzzwords in meetings, and consistently make decisions that anyone with relevant experience would know to avoid. When things go wrong, blame rolls downhill fast. The culture is toxic and cliquey. If you're not in the right social circle, advancement is nearly impossible. Favoritism is blatant, feedback is rarely constructive, and the "open door policy" is a joke — speak up and you'll find yourself quietly pushed out. The work environment doesn't help either. High turnover means institutional knowledge constantly walks out the door. Morale is low, burnout is high, and HR seems more interested in protecting the company than the employees.
