Pros

It is an easy job

Cons

The other employees, first off on my first night I had a question about logging my computer off and not one of the five people behind me would help me, even after I directly asked someone, couldn't be bothered. Employees vaping off in the corner, God knows what. It is a very "every man for himself atmosphere" because there are quotas you need to make. Here is the problem, I was scheduled for a four hour shift but the orders were all completed before the end of the shift so of course they have you clock out and go home. This issue with this is every time they hire a new person the orders will get filled quicker and quicker so everyone there makes less money. So as a new person you will not get a warm reception because you are the reason all the other employees are now making less. Also the manager I dealt with had a real chip on his shoulder when I needed to change a shift because the schedule is" done two weeks ahead". However I was only put on two days ago since I am a new employee, I also offered to work any other time during the weekend and was met with this nasty "you are lower than dirt" attitude. No thanks, keep your $11 an hour, it's not worth it between management and the employees.

Pros

The only good thing I can say about Peapod, is about the individuals who work on the Infrastructure team. The IT team is comprised of friendly, intelligent, outgoing, personable people who have an immense amount of talent and skill. I made friends with most of them during my time there. There are a few who only look out for themselves, but thats typical at any workplace. Working with such an awesome team, makes the job fun.

Cons

Peapod has no idea how to pay their IT team fairly. Upper management takes care of EVERY other department, except IT and Operations. Everyone is, at least, 30% under fair market value. You may get a promotion, but the promotion will give you double the work and a little bit of pay. A salary you should have been making prior to the promotion. They justify this by telling you Peapod is giving you an opportunity - so really you don't even deserve the promotion and increased work load...or your not qualified for it..? Another thing about Peapod....Upper mgmt does not care about anyone. The culture used to be amazing at Peapod, but in the last couple years, with the injection of Execs from the parent company, it gone down hill significantly. Ahold (parent company) has literally sucked the life out of execs who used to care about you. Maybe this has something to do with how awful Peapod is doing as a business.
