Pros

Ability to learn new things constantly Very helpful and inclusive culture Very reasonable travel policies Eager and driven coworkers Benefits are the best I've seen out of many similar roles out there Recognition for good work is often and sincere It often times feels like a family Management truly has your back Work life balance when not on site is phenominal

Cons

Nature of any support role in this company is that you're customer facing, and often times that's on site. While for some the travel may be a pro, there were plenty of weeks on site where there were too few waking hours for the work that needed to be done, and often times this is by yourself with only other remote engineers reachable on Skype. This could be mitigated by scaling up staff available on site, at least for ramp up time for more junior engineers. Also, I would have appreciated a bit more training support. I can completely understand learning by doing, and I agree with the methodology. It would just be useful to have senior engineers available to help when issues arise in a more physical sense, especially considering on-site hours typically extend well past typical business hours.

Pros

- Great place to work if your preference is working for small companies. In fact, executive management is actively working to make the company as small (“lean”) as possible. - Great place to work if you enjoy big challenges, especially with “constrained” resources. - Great place to work if you prefer to not be burdened by an abundance of top-down flow of information. - No others to mention.

Cons

- Primarily, you can absolutely believe every other “Con” in these reviews. It’s truly become abysmal. - An obvious lack of understanding of loyalty and workforce dynamics on the part of the CEO/CFO/COO (yes, all power has somehow been consolidated by one individual.) - Under current management, there is perpetual and deafening silence from the top down. This was a very obvious change in management methodology when current management ascended into their positions in late 2016. Remember – this is a small company, not a large multi-national. - If you’re in the unfortunate position of interviewing for a job, ask the tough questions. Ask about the company's challenges throughout 2017, and the resulting contraction in early 2018. Ask about the additional attrition resulting from that contraction. Ask if the position was created by growth, or is for backfilling a voluntary departure. And most importantly, ask about the company’s long term plan for survival.
