Pros

- Potential remote working capabilities. - HSA or POP Health Insurance. (about 50% paid for by employer) - SIMPLE IRA up to 2% match. - Monthly technology bonus to cover cell phone. - Some process documentation is very clearly laid out, defined and easily accessible. - Payroll recently converted to offer direct deposit.

Cons

-Management lacks the experience and knowledge to grow the company to anything beyond a small family run operation. - Any previous experience outside of Pediment is undervalued as it does not relate to "what Pediment does". - Compensation is below industry standard, keeping in mind that you do not have experience working within the Pediment business model - this is an excuse to apply an entry level pay structure to new employees. - There is a strong divide between the family members running the business and the rest of the employees. This creates an "Us vs. Them" culture that breeds discontent and tension within the office. - PTO is not employee friendly. - Very poor communication. Can often come across as patronizing. - Management operates on their own time working when they want, rescheduling meetings without reason to suit their availability. - Turnover was very high, 6 employees in 10 months. - Little to no room for growth and professional development. - Annual performance review format is arbitrary and antiquated.

Pros

- The office was a friendly environment. - I was provided the necessary training to succeed at my job. - The management was approachable and kind. - It was a great small business feel where people cared about each other beyond the work. - I enjoyed the group breaks playing a game of "H" (shortened version of H-O-R-S-E) just to get up and move around a bit away from the computer and interact on a relational level. - I felt I received a fair wage for what I was producing for the company.

Cons

It is a small business so there aren't a ton of opportunities for higher-level advancement, if that's what you're looking for. However, the owners and management were good at noticing and rewarding effective/hard work. They also seemed willing to invest in and commit to folks interested in committing to a career at Pediment.
