Pros

A caring team, but everyone is trying their best to make it work in an extremely toxic environment.

Cons

1. Lack of work life balance - A culture of overworking is actively promoted. There is a complete lack of any boundaries. you will be expected to work even when you're on leave/ sick/ on weekends. If you are someone who likes to set boundaries, you will be made an example of. 2. Incompetent leadership - Prefer to turn a blind eye to what may really be the problem. There is no real concern for an individual's career trajectory. The relationships are driven in a calculated and transactory manner. Completely indifferent to feedback, and defensive when it is provided. Several instances of unethical behaviour, including pressuring employees for Glassdoor reviews and putting up fake ones. Shocking lack of discretion when sharing private information concerning employees. 3. Lack a real plan of action - most of the time is spent firefighting, and exhausting the team for the same. Team is constantly made to do random adhoc tasks without any planning. 4. No HR - absence of an unbiased, independent HR despite being a sizeable org. The leadership takes on HR responsibilities which is not only unethical, but also highly counterintuitive. 5. Almost zero possibility of receiving a competent pay package, or a fair raise/promotion, unless you know what strings to pull. 6. Misappropriation of impact figures. 7. Superficial, patronising outlook on mental health

Pros

Peepul took a chance on me without a conventional background in communications, and that bet went both ways; they gave me room to grow, and I delivered. Within a year, I went from figuring out the basics to genuinely contributing to the work. What I appreciated most was that once I proved myself, I was treated as a peer, not just a junior hire. The org rewards initiative and doesn't box you in by your job title. If you're willing to put in the work, there's real space to evolve fast.

Cons

The early months were tough. Without a traditional background, building credibility took time and deliberate effort. The org does hand-hold you for the initial phase but if you come in without domain experience, expect to earn your seat at the table rather than be given one.

Pros

Supportive work culture with opportunities to learn, take ownership, and contribute meaningfully to education and gender and inclusion projects. Collaborative teams and encouraging leadership make it a rewarding workplace.

Cons

You may need to budget for cat treats. One of the MP team's unofficial feline colleagues is a much-loved part of the organization and has successfully won over almost everyone. Resistance is usually futile! Being a cat lover is definitely an added advantage.
