Pros

I enjoyed the staff. Working in a smaller facility allows you to get to know more people. Most people were friendly.

Cons

Pay. Staffing. CNAs were constantly short - having one aide for 39 patients on nights. Even second shift they would have maybe 2 aides for the same amount of people which was a lot depending on the acuity. The nurses were constantly short too and were extremely dissatisfied. The computer system, Meditech, is very outdated and does not allow for charting to be done quickly and efficiently. Management made many broken promises and was disrespectful to the staff. There is not much room for advancement. The equipment was broken or there wasn't enough of it. There weren't enough transporters on. The cafeteria is terrible with limited options and closed at 7pm. After that there were no food options available to employees unless you got it from the vending machine. The benefits were terrible.

Pros

Mission-focused Some patients and employees are nice Good benefits

Cons

Crowded and Busy. In the cancer institute the lines for check-in went out the door and it seems like everyone forgets their manners in that place. Very little pay for dealing with so many angry patients
