Pros

Great stepping stone into the health care field. Higher end of pay for social work field. Learn a lot and are able to work with multiple teams (doctors, nurses, PT/OTs).

Cons

Pay is lower end for healthcare social workers. Management is unsupportive/undertrained. RNs in the department held at higher pay for same level of work. RNs belittling social workers.

Pros

Mission-focused Some patients and employees are nice Good benefits

Cons

Crowded and Busy. In the cancer institute the lines for check-in went out the door and it seems like everyone forgets their manners in that place. Very little pay for dealing with so many angry patients
