Pros

People at an ops level were dedicated, helpful, and hard-working - some of them turned a scant handful of time and resources into miracles, no thanks to the organisational problems.

Cons

The business has expanded beyond it's means to adequately control itself. Employees have industry-disproportionate high workloads and thus there is a high turnover. There is an adversarial relationship between ops and HR, who refuse to hire headcounts up to an adequate workload and expect their employees to undertake utterly impossible schedules. The job itself has evolved from something simple in both complexity and throughput needed to something far beyond the capabilities of most and those that are tenured are absolutely riddled with stress. If you work here, you will be overworked until you burn out or quit as management seems to have zero handle on what it means to do the job any more. Continuous HR and payroll mistakes. A pie-in-the-sky corporate culture that uses a cuddly, "we are all family" ethos as a thin veneer of paint to cover serious problems. A strange, dubious fetish for AI in the workplace.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We appreciate you highlighting the dedication and hard work of our operational teams, including our A-Team, who provide excellent service for our customers every day. We recognise that as the company grows, it’s crucial that our support systems evolve accordingly to ensure a sustainable workload for everyone. Our predominant focus here is on making work more efficient in the long-term through developing productivity gains for the team, with a particular focus at the moment on how AI can serve our team as a supportive efficiency tool. We hear your perspective on this, and are encouraging our team to bring their views to the table to shape the future of AI at PensionBee. In our recent CEO Q&A on the topic, we saw that 86% of our team felt either positively (53%), or mixed (33%) about AI, and we look forward to continuing these discussions so that we can shape PensionBee’s AI strategy together. We’re proud in our most recent engagement survey, that 83% of the company, and 80% of our A-Team felt positively about recommending working with us to a friend, and ratings for wellbeing support were high across the board, and amongst the highest in the A Team at 4.03 (out of 5). We’re also proud of the retention rate for our A-Team, which at 84% for 2024, was above CIPD benchmarks of 65% for similar roles, and represents the ongoing commitment of our team. We encourage anyone who is struggling with workload to reach out to their manager, the People & Culture team, or one of our Mental Health First Aiders, for support. On the matter of payroll, we understand the critical importance of timely and accurate payments. This is why we always aim to pay salaries in advance of the contractual pay date of the 22nd of the month and why our payroll team is available to answer any questions about payslips. Having done a thorough review of our payroll system recently, we’re confident in our system and our ability to address any issues, but would always encourage team members to raise specific questions so that we can answer them. We’re not aware of any instances where team members have been paid later than the contractual date (22nd) and as an additional precaution, we always recommend scheduling critical payments several days after the payroll date. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback, and we wish you all the best for your future career.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback, we appreciate every opportunity to learn more about our team’s experiences. We’re glad to hear that you valued some aspects of our culture, such as our generous leave policies and 401k matching. However, we’re sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your role with us. Our US team is in the exciting, and varied early days of a global launch. A start-up environment can be a unique experience that isn’t always the right fit for everyone. We wish you all the best for the future, and if you wish to share anything further with us about your experiences you’re welcome to reach out to our team on people@pensionbee.com
