Pros

If you're looking for a place to gain experience as a stepping stone then this is the place. Good for persons who are right out of college and looking to gain knowledge in interior design or just pay their bills.

Cons

Lack of interdepartmental communications, lower level employee's underpaid. HR hardly lived to the definition of HR (they're supposed to be helpful and approachable, not calloused and indignant.) Equal treatment among employees should be paramount to a highly functioning work environment where people are able to operate within their job duties and not have tasks from senior management or other departments dumped on them. Show room was vastly understaffed at times to the point where serviced suffered (which was not due to the performance of showroom personnel, but because upper management didn't project the needs and responsibilities of the department well enough)

Pros

This company is a good entry level place for new interior designers, students, forklift drivers, or customer service people. There is not much room for advancement so pass on your resume to customers that come in. The products are nice if you like tile and slab. Sometimes employees are allowed leftover food from an event the night before. As long as you follow procedure, time-off is approved. Overtime is required on Saturday for many. The company continues growing in a slow economy. The president cares about the company, even if others may not.

Cons

Low compensation in the field for most job positions. New job postings list a higher starting wage than the wage many current employees make (expect low raises once a year if lucky). Job postings until very recently were secret to the inner company employees. Recently they have been posted in the lunch room. Many departments do not have a work space (desk area or table) for each employee. A few "cubicals" are composed of boxes in the storage room. There is new unoccuppied office space whose plans do not consider expanding more crowded departments. If you are new to the warehouse crew your job is sweeping and toilet cleanup. No janitors for that service. There is a high turnover rate.
