Pros

The commission plans not too bad for service advisors.

Cons

My entire career with pep boys has given me much insight into this insipid boys club. Whenever you have an issue with a male counterpart their side will always been taken and they will be reprimanded with a slap on the wrist. This company doesn’t care for their employees. Treat it as a job and nothing more because all your hard work, effort, that above and beyond behavior is for not. When it truly matters most the company will not value you or your safety over one of their customers. No matter the situation, this company stands firm on the customers always right. The benefits are god awful not worth the money(ridiculously expensive as well). No matter the effort and time you put into the job you will be passed up at every opportunity for career advancements despite already preforming duties that an advancement would entail. It’s a job nothing more, treat it as such. To all the women trying to break the glass ceiling in this industry, this is not the place.

Pros

Through my career I have learned a lot on the automotive industry.

Cons

Corporate found a way to cut payroll by approximately $1k monthly to former assistant managers by eliminating the overtime associated with the position and eliminating the position , renamed it and lowered the hourly rate and put them under " commission ". Results...many guys looking for a new job cause with cost of living constantly increasing pay went down drastically plus most stores are understaffed but corporate keeps pushing for productivity, really bad work environment.
