In the collections role, you’re working directly with delinquent taxpayers. Oftentimes I found that it was difficult to leave the day I had at the office. You hear some of the most heart breaking stories, and you give them as much leeway as you can, but at the end of the day, if you can’t get these people to pay there’s a real chance the firm will come after their property. A lot of times, this is their home. That said, if you’ve got a big heart and are a sucker for sob stories, this is not the place for you.
