If you're looking to break into the fashion/apparel industry in Portland, look elsewhere. The worst thing about Perry Ellis International (PEI) was leadership, aka the old and new CEOs, aka father and son. They are not digital-first CEOs and think that the internet ruined their strategy for success. Budgets are razor thin in the company BUT leadership expects the world. Co-workers frequently quit but never get replaced. Why? In leadership's head I'm sure it's something to the effect of, if we can save a year's salary and work will still get done, let's do it. Who cares about employee satisfaction or stress. Leadership needs to get rid of that ridiculously old Jantzen canopy outside the Nike Swimwear building and throw up a Swoosh. Then take some money and make the work space live and breath Nike to inspire staff.
