Pros
The company has IPO ambitions, and that makes sense when you consider that it has raised over $700M over its lifetime. It has to pay back the investors somehow.
So everyone complaining about the company culture changing, the work pressure, the leadership changes etc. - well, that is what it takes to get to the next level. You don’t grow at this rate, be profitable AND build new lines of business by doing what you’ve always done.
Folks who are here and can get behind what, at times, may seem like a grind, are here because they are trying to build something remarkable. It’s not meant to be comfortable.
Cons
The company has its fair share of challenges that it needs to address.
- Lack of proper planning
- Lack of sufficient transparency and communication, especially from leadership at the department level
- Lack of focus — too many things!
But show me a single company that has it all figured out and I’ll show you my pet unicorn.
