Pros
I joined Perthyn in 2018, and it has been the best move I could of made. The training is over and beyond what I was used to and I've worked in the care sector for more years than I care to remember. I initially started as a Assistant Support Manager and felt fully supported in this role. I have now been offered the opportunity to further my knowledge and develop my skills as an acting Community Support Manager, with a further opportunity of moving on to Managing my own service. I have never been pressured to do extra shifts or to take on extra responsibilities that I have felt I couldn't do.
Cons
Every care company is governed by funding. This is very frustrating as we are having care support hours cut to a bare minimum. This isn't Perthyns fault. Its the Governments. Some of the people we support are in quite remote areas and we cant do a lot of things we would like to support them to have a productive normal life. For example we cant walk to the local shop we have to drive.
