Great place to work if you don't like working - Associate Director Pfizer Employee Review

Pros

No expectations since the majority are totally inept. The hours kept are minimal and the hours there are not required to be productive. The benefits package is very good and you can't beat the location - right near Grand Central. A typical day for any employee consists of back to back meetings so no work is actually ever really required of anyone. It's common to see people coming in around 10-11 am and leaving around 4 pm. Unfortunately, the co did away with half day Fridays and the company store. If you want a career where you can get paid for chair warming, PFE is the place for you.

Cons

Those same inept people eventually get promotions despite reporting fictitiously earned degrees from made up schools (Amerigus U doesn't exist!). Eventually it has a tremendous negative impact on the firm. It also disincentivizes the few valuable employees who are actually doing the work. PFE could fire half the staff and see no change in operations other than increased efficiency.

Pros

A good amount of remote monitoring, which depending on how you view can be a positive.

Cons

Changing systems and inconsistent standards are applied to people. There are many differing models that often muddy how you are supposed to do your job, especially when other staff members don't quite understand. How do you interface with the changing models? There tends to be a lot of blame and foisting of responsibilities. Sometimes you can become overburdened with a lot of work, where people do not respect your time and think that their tasks should take priority. It is possible to be contacted late at night with work to do and then be criticized the next day for not being able to keep up.
