Pros

Great salaries. There is a lot of room for improvement in their IT operations so a you can really make a difference if you work hard.

Cons

Be prepared to live with the threat of being let go at any time. It feels that there is a new reorganization every 3 months! High performers may be let go while non-performers manage to survive. Too many people doing nothing. It is easy for them to hide within the company. This is a company that is buying other companies all the time. There are too many silos and favoritism going on based on which company you originally came from. Not the place to work if you are looking to do innovative work. Working at Pfizer as an IT employee can be really boring. Everchanging strategies. No clearly set strategy and direction.

Pros

A good amount of remote monitoring, which depending on how you view can be a positive.

Cons

Changing systems and inconsistent standards are applied to people. There are many differing models that often muddy how you are supposed to do your job, especially when other staff members don't quite understand. How do you interface with the changing models? There tends to be a lot of blame and foisting of responsibilities. Sometimes you can become overburdened with a lot of work, where people do not respect your time and think that their tasks should take priority. It is possible to be contacted late at night with work to do and then be criticized the next day for not being able to keep up.
