Pros

Get some experience and move on to a better place.

Cons

Let’s start with pay. They give everyone 2% “raises” and state they just don’t have the funds to give more and that senior leadership would never approve of more. The pay in itself is very low and below market value already. It’s very frustrating especially when you work so hard and are constantly told by your leadership team how much value you bring to the team and company. The benefits aren’t terrible but they could use much improvement. Unfortunately, the HR department turned over three times during my tenure of 3 years, so there just isn’t anyone there long enough to work on this I suppose. Health insurance is very expensive, especially if you have a spouse or family to add. The company as a whole has a turnover of over 40%. You’re given a laptop and cell phone and are not permitted to work from home because it is company policy. Yet should something be needed after hours, you’re fully expected to take care of it. Senior leadership needs to be let go and new folks to replace them. They lead the company by fear. You constantly hear, “if this doesn’t get done as requested by the executive under the CEO, someone will be fired.” The same executive is also extremely unprofessional. He curses and yells at people and that is not how you treat people. Company was purchased by an equity firm last year. Changes started since the buyout and they haven’t been good. Many folks were let go, from employees to leadership and most of those positions weren’t filled. It is very unclear what the future will look like and you can feel the tensions among employees as they fear for their jobs. The environment in the corporate office is one that is very low. Mid-level leaders do not manage people well. It is a very unprofessional environment caused by them. It is unrealistic to expect an environment where absolutely zero gossip happens but it is realistic to expect the leaders to not discuss employee matters with that employees coworkers. It causes disruption and distrust amongst employees and their leaders and low team morale. There is much confusion amongst various departments. Account Management has a significant turnover rate. And thus aren’t trained properly on processes and procedures and are left out to fend for ourselves. There is no cohesion amongst departments.

Pros

What stands out most is the organization’s clear commitment to improving long-term care pharmacy services—not just operationally, but in how care is delivered to patients. There is a strong focus on quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement, which makes the work both meaningful and impactful. Leadership is engaged and forward-thinking, with a genuine emphasis on building strong teams and empowering individuals to contribute. I’ve especially appreciated the collaborative environment and the ability to make a real difference while helping shape processes and outcomes. PharMerica is also investing in its people—creating opportunities for growth, development, and innovation across roles. For anyone looking to be part of a team that is evolving, values accountability, and is focused on delivering better care, this is a great place to build a career. Overall, a dynamic and purpose-driven organization with a strong future ahead.

Pros

One of the things that interests me most about PharMerica is the opportunity to support patients in long-term care settings while continuing to grow professionally. I appreciate that the company offers career development opportunities, educational support, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care. With my background in pharmacy and customer service, I believe I can contribute to providing accurate, compassionate service while continuing to learn and grow within the organization.

Cons

Some employees have reported challenges with management communication or consistency in leadership styles. As with many large organizations, experiences can vary by location and department. Having clear communication and a supportive manager can make a significant difference in the work
