17 years of the same job but 5 different companies due to mergers/acquisitions, the PharMerica years were the worst. - Consultant Pharmacist PharMerica Employee Review

Pros

Benefits are decent but below average for a company of this size. Majority of non-management employees are great people.

Cons

Wages are below the median across all positions. Raises have been only 1% increase in 3 of last 4 years (0% other year). Company practices a wage limit stop (a.k.a. 'redline') in which your position can no longer receive a raise....ever. Upper management is extremely poor (I never met my VP/Director in 3 years after their appointment to the position). As they continue to lose beds every year, management's plan appears to be to lay off the higher paid/seniority employees in favor of lower paid and overworked persons left. Yearly bonus goals are not presented until half the year is past. Labor laws in my particular state are disregarded (e.g. mileage reimbursement only 0.375 cents/mile vs. IRS mandated 0.55 cents/mile). Recent announcement of loss of largest customer (Kindred leaving for OmniCare) despite Kindred being a major stockholder of PMC says a lot.

Pros

What stands out most is the organization’s clear commitment to improving long-term care pharmacy services—not just operationally, but in how care is delivered to patients. There is a strong focus on quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement, which makes the work both meaningful and impactful. Leadership is engaged and forward-thinking, with a genuine emphasis on building strong teams and empowering individuals to contribute. I’ve especially appreciated the collaborative environment and the ability to make a real difference while helping shape processes and outcomes. PharMerica is also investing in its people—creating opportunities for growth, development, and innovation across roles. For anyone looking to be part of a team that is evolving, values accountability, and is focused on delivering better care, this is a great place to build a career. Overall, a dynamic and purpose-driven organization with a strong future ahead.

Pros

One of the things that interests me most about PharMerica is the opportunity to support patients in long-term care settings while continuing to grow professionally. I appreciate that the company offers career development opportunities, educational support, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care. With my background in pharmacy and customer service, I believe I can contribute to providing accurate, compassionate service while continuing to learn and grow within the organization.

Cons

Some employees have reported challenges with management communication or consistency in leadership styles. As with many large organizations, experiences can vary by location and department. Having clear communication and a supportive manager can make a significant difference in the work
