Pros
- Provides you with great insight and experience into the pharma industry - Nice office space
Cons
- Holiday allowance and company benefits are not up to industry standard - A bizarre and uncomfortable office culture (e.g., intimate details shared about a senior manager's private life, and inappropriate comments made to the office on weight loss that some individuals may find triggering) - A sense of distrust in you as an employee: this became the most obvious when entering a pandemic and senior management would not initially allow (let alone encourage) employees to WFH - Senior managers ask for feedback but don't act on the feedback received; rather than working out a plan on how to improve the experience of their employees (with the employees), senior managers become defensive and cover up important concerns, denying anything was wrong in the first place - Unrealistic expectations on team members to get dozens of "urgent" jobs done on a very short-turnaround: quantity over quality is prioritised but if a mistake is made, a witch-hunt ensues - Conflicting instructions received from senior managers, which causes confusion and inconsistencies (e.g., which jobs should be prioritised, what the deadline is for each job, and whether comments in the review being conducted should even be made at all) - No real development opportunities or training courses available
