Pros
Crew is friendly, lots of meal times, food is usually descent, the ship is clean and tidy outdoors and indoors. Captains, Mates, Engineers and Deckhands are incredibly friendly, helpful and respectful. Most of department heads are friendly and most of the crew are happy to be there. If I could rate the crew... it would be 5 stars, but the experience financially is 2 stars perhaps even 1 for people that are new.
Cons
The fish processors are treated less than, kind of like the military.. they don't get any respect, they have to earn it. They get yelled at a lot, they are physically and mentally exhausted. Understaffed. Factory Bosses are very strict with them, some are always yelling at them. A lot of anger and rage amongst the processors, hard to keep their cool. Processor bathrooms are disgusting, housekeepers can only do so much to clean after them. Very Low Pay. hourly pay no crew share here. the processors make $8/hr, galley staff is $10/hr. I am not sure if the pay goes up the longer you work there, maybe it does. A lot of work for nothing. Land Jobs pay more. If you are here just for the experience of adventure then this is the place to be but not a place to stay long term for financial gain, not much they offer prob bc this is a small fish processing company. Only two ships.
