Pros

The client is a well-known financial company, and the work can be interesting at times. A few teammates made the environment a little more bearable — having people to relate to helped a lot.
It’s also encouraging to finally see more honest reviews here. As someone who experienced this firsthand, I appreciate that others are starting to share real stories too. In the past, it felt like only overly positive reviews were being shared.

Cons

The biggest issue is the workload. You're often expected to work 11–12 hours a day but only get paid for 8 — there’s no overtime compensation, just an unspoken expectation to stay late. Micromanagement is constant, and it makes it hard to feel trusted or valued. There's little space to work independently or grow. Pay across the team is inconsistent, even when people are doing the same kind of work. And if you're on a visa, it’s especially difficult — there’s not much transparency or support, and it creates a lot of anxiety. Taking PTO is frustrating. Even if you’ve accrued it, getting approval requires multiple layers and often feels discouraged. It adds to the overall pressure of working here. Advice to Management:
Start by respecting people’s time — if employees are working long hours, that should be recognized and compensated fairly.
Be transparent about pay and make sure people on visas feel supported, not isolated.
Ease up on the micromanagement and focus on building trust. Let people do the jobs you hired them to do. And fix the PTO process — it shouldn’t be that hard for people to take time off they’ve earned.

Pros

Really good company to work for. Health benefits were great and was able to negotiate a good rate for my contract

Cons

Communication could improve in terms of staying in contact with the contractor. Working with the individual for their next role as the contract is nearing an end would be an area of opportunity as well.

Pros

Can be on interesting projects Some really good people If on correct team can be very good conditions such as remote work

Cons

Zero opportunities for growth Limited to no work/life balance No Severance Do not pay when on the bench Wrong team or manager the hr insanity can make it rough (One year they decided july 4th was not a holiday another they decided to lower the salary and increase the percentage that was bonus effectually giving everyone a pay cut).. Honestly a 2 might being generous but i have worked with some nice people there and the vast majority of the people were nice and good just wanting to get the job done . Any 5s are probably fake or the lucky few that do not have to deal with Photon Hr.
