Pros
It was nice only working eight days a month. If you needed extra money, overtime is very plentiful.
Cons
The company does not follow its own policy and procedures. Rules are made and changed on a whim to suite the immediate needs of the company. I am surprised they have not gotten in trouble with the state over wrongful termination. As a supervisor I experienced issues being fabricated so good solid employees were terminated. The only true reason for termination was the employee voiced a negative opinion of upper management.
The other main issue is lack of PM on the equipment. Equipment, to include the ambulances, are not maintained. Only after something is broken will it be fixed, and then maybe not. On more than one occasion I had an ambulance with out functioning air conditioning during the summer. Older ambulances shutoff in mid critical care transport and management did not care. It was not uncommon to find an expired drug box and struggle to get replacement medications.
