Pros

Great potential and great future products, if executed properly.

Cons

Lack of leadership. Workforce is unbalanced and there are too many young inexperienced employees without the wisdom of more experienced, educated employees.

Pros

Chill work environment. Hands off management.

Cons

Phyton Biotech makes hundreds of kilograms of band 4 and band 5 cytotoxic material per year and does less to protect its workers than any pharmaceutical or biotech company in British Columbia. The material they produce causes infertility, birth defects, cancer and other health problems. The levels of cytotoxic material they expose their maintenance and production workers to is hundreds to thousands of times higher than the safe level. They refuse to contain their processes and adequately decontaminate their production facility. The management continue to hide this serious safety issue from it’s workers, worksafebc, and even fired their former safety officer for pushing to fix it. The engineering/maintenance department has no one who has ever worked in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company and has been lied to and misinformed about the safety issues by other managers. The production department only hires people without pharmaceutical experience to help hide this fact. These are serious issues that are either ignored or kept hidden. This company refuses to implement procedures and use equipment that every other company in British Columbia uses to protect their employees. Every other company that handles potent cytotoxic material does more to contain and control exposure to 1g than Phyton does to protect their employees from exposure to 10,000g. Do not work at this company. You will not find a worse business in the biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The management of this company is incredibly negligent and irresponsible.
