Pros

Stable job with a decent paycheck. Some good coworkers who try their best despite the dysfunction. Workload is light, which could be a pro for some—if you’re okay with boredom.

Cons

Severe Lack of Communication : Leadership and management fail to communicate clearly. Important updates are either last-minute or never shared at all. Teams are often left guessing, leading to confusion and wasted time. No Career Growth : Promotions and growth opportunities are controlled by favoritism rather than merit. Even if you ask for more work or express interest in development, it rarely leads anywhere. Uneven Workload Distribution : While some teams are overwhelmed, others (like mine) have little to do. Asking for more work often goes ignored. There’s no real structure to ensure people are engaged and contributing meaningfully. Favoritism in Promotions : Managers play favorites, and it’s obvious who will get ahead regardless of performance. If you’re not in the inner circle, don’t expect to move up. Unfair Pay & Raises : Merit increases are a joke. Even high performers don’t get the max increase because those go to the favorites. There’s no way to negotiate for better pay—unless you get an outside offer and threaten to leave. Disengaging Work Environment : With no clear direction, no real challenges, and no sense of purpose, it’s hard to stay motivated. Many employees just go through the motions.

Pros

Pay is decent for Knoxville Benefits are good Coworkers are the only thing holding this place together

Cons

The culture has taken a nosedive. The new CFO sets the tone, and that tone is basically “I don’t care.” That attitude trickles down through leadership and it shows in every decision being made. The return‑to‑office mandate is a perfect example. It’s not about productivity — it’s about control. People with long commutes are burning hours of their lives just to sit in the office on Zoom calls they used to take from home. Morale is the lowest it has ever been. Entire teams have been gutted because people are quitting faster than they can be replaced. The workload dumped on whoever stays is unsustainable. Communication from leadership is cold, dismissive, and out of touch. Feedback goes nowhere. Concerns are brushed off. Decisions are made with zero regard for how they impact employees. Constant reorganizations create chaos. Roles change overnight, expectations shift constantly, and employees are expected to absorb more and more with no support. The company used to feel people‑focused. Now it feels like a machine that’s grinding down the very people who keep it running.
