Plentiful - I worked here for three years during college and watched as upper management fired a manager that bent over backwards for them and replaced her with a truly delusional narcissist. Despite the sales associates reporting the replacement manager’s actions (everything from racist remarks about her own staff members to her inability to clean up after herself – sales associates often had to dispose of her leftover food and beverages, as well as used q-tips) upper management stood idly by. Most of my Pitaya experience left me with little to no opinion of upper management, as we learned that if everyone did their job properly, there was little reason for sales associates and upper management to interact. When the Pitaya staff finally decided to band together and stand up to the manager that regularly bullied them, upper management utterly ignored our claims and left us to work with someone that made the entire staff uncomfortable every day. I was lucky enough to graduate college and leave Pitaya, but I’ve left a number of friends behind who’ve been forced to continue to interact with this manager daily. At this point, she remains unpunished by upper management and continues to terrorize her staff (last time I spoke with them, she owed at least three sales associates money for lunch and coffee runs and was blaming her new hires for her scheduling mistakes – a lie that upper management did not question). It is truly disgusting how Pitaya’s upper management has neglected their staff in their time of need. They are complicit in the poor treatment of their staff and have showed no remorse or willingness to change the situation that has caused their staff to so greatly suffer. Michael and Danielle, shame on you.
