Pros

Very few staff have left which says everything really. You are looked after with a true focus on wellbeing. CPD is excellent and relevant with weekly training in-house and access to additional training via each individuals CPD budget allocation. A recent investment in additional staff benefits is really appreciated.

Cons

You need to be resilient as the work can be quite emotional

Pros

When I joined, I was very confused about the dynamics of how this school works, as it was completely different from my previous workplace, which I had always rated highly (work ethics). It was a massive difference for me. But after a few years of experience, I can say that the best thing about working here is recognition. You get recognition for what you do. If you look at the bigger picture and stay sincere in your role, the senior leadership recognizes you(including head teacher/deputy). I didn't realize this until I had worked there for a year (sometimes you have to go above and beyond). Senior leadership team (lead practitioners especially) are always there to listen to you whenever you need them, without any prior notice. One more thing, the school believes in unity in diversity (which explains everything).

Cons

Politics within the staff is something that can be found at most workplaces, and it exists here as well. No matter how good you try to become, you are a bad guy being discussed in others' chats/groups, and it never stops. People don't normally use direct channels to report things; in fact, they go straight to the top leadership. I just found this a bit different.

Pros

They are extremely supportive towards every member of staff and are mindful of how they can empower you to improve individually. This is generated by; holding regular training sessions, through PDR reviews and having an open door policy for staff to share their views, thoughts and ideas. They are willing to listen to staff and where possible, support you to find the best work/life. Your metal health is supported by Pivot. At Pivot, they are always putting children first, and will explore every avenue to make sure that we provide what the learner needs. This is great for leaner and their families as they can trust in the staff and build positive relationships. They are constantly looking at trends, new approaches to learning, good practice and mental health support. They are focused on making sure learners have positive outcomes when they leave Pivot.

Cons

There aren't any downsides to working at Pivot.
