Pros
Great culture, supportive team and managers, no bullying, no overtime work, great socials, based in a beautiful and calm city in the English Midlands.
The office is really awesome. Usually, on Fridays people stay after work for some beers (the fridge is always packed) and play pool and video games at the common area.
When the cost of living crisis hit us, they raised the salaries of all employees. That says a lot about the ethics of the guys on the top.
There is no culture of blaming and pointing fingers, and I would feel confident to reach anyone, including the CEO if I thought that there was something that could be done better.
I've had multiple offers from other companies, but I've always chosen to stay.
I've been at Pixel Toys for almost 3 years now, and I'm not planning to leave.
Cons
One thing we can improve on the project I'm working on is communication across teams and from top to bottom. Sometimes some critical decisions regarding the project take a long time to be clearly communicated to all involved. Also, getting feedback and approvals from busy stakeholders can take more time than ideal.
One last thing is that the projects can take radical pivots at any moment, but I guess this is very common in any games and tech projects.
The main thing is that people are aware of the flaws and in most cases at least try to mitigate and/or solve them.
