Pros

Some of the staff are very talented and committed professionals.

Cons

I joined the company thinking that, having been rated as one of the top employers in the area, that it would be a good fit (I can only guess that the rating was biased by some personal connections to the company). I could not be more wrong. While every company has is issues and challenges, PixelMEDIA issues are both numerous and of great magnitude. The real problem begins with the executive leadership, if you can even call it that. The entire focus is on billing hours at the expense of both quality and the customer. This singular focus on billing hours (over anything else) leads to poor results for its clients: late, over budget and lacking quality. In any other market, this company would be struggling. This is the culture - don't be tempted by tales of bonuses, great benefits or working for a cool agency - companies that have to talk about their culture really don't have a culture. A video games, pool table, snacks and once a year holiday party doesn't make up for an unfriendly and unfocused work environment. Underneath the senior team are a layer of unprofessional 'directors' that have little managerial or leadership experience yet have the egos that can fill Gillette Stadium. The overall attitude is that they are too 'cool' or 'hip'. This middle 'management' layer, lacking in any substantive experience outside of the company thinks they are doing well but their approach only alienates people on the 'team'. If you shut up and follow directions, you'll be fine, for those hoping for an innovative company, this is not it. The compensation plan and package is well below industry standards and while the benefits package is acceptable (e.g. on par with similar sized companies), the leadership thinks that it is top shelf. Promises of annual bonuses that go undelivered adds insult to injury.
