Cons
Despite being predominately female owned and operated, Place represents everything that's wrong with the fashion industry. You'd think having so many hard working women would foster a culture of strength and camaraderie, but it's quite the opposite. The culture is one of underhandedness and favoritism, which is tragic as there's a ton of potential. People are frequently asked (more like told) to write positive Glassdoor reviews--so be careful reading the positive ones. Chances are they were written by the HR team. Having to write "recaps" of everything you did each day and forward to the CEO is absolutely maniacal and extremely telling of the culture. I'd call it severe micro-management, however no one is actually managing anyone; there is absolutely no career development, barely any job training, yet quite a lot of favoritism and gossip. Turnover is dangerously high. For the time spent trying to keep your job at Place, you're better off saving your sanity and simply finding a different showroom to work.
