Pros
Best in class international programming. Was always very proud of our work and would certainly recommend donors to Plant With Purpose in the future--worth every penny. Effective mission with lasting results. Almost all employees were top of their game, genuinely kind, trustworthy, curious, and proactive. Best work culture I've experienced so far and I became a better person through my time there. The board of directors was engaged. Favorite feature: the lived experience and best interests of program beneficiaries was always top of mind in program decision-making. MEL feedback loop was on point; best I've seen to date.
Cons
As is usually the case in the nonprofit sector, low pay across the board in the US. At the time, most of us were near the 50th percentile for our job descriptions, maybe the 60th, despite being in the 95th percentile in terms of talent. To their credit, the retirement account matching was generous (if you could afford to contribute), and HR always errored on the side of the employee in terms of flexibility. Amazing place to work if you can afford it.
