Pros
I liked most of my coworkers as people and a number of them have become close friends. Good middle management as well. The people I reported to directly over the years were always very supportive, professional, and humane towards me.
Cons
Your quality of life there steadily gets worse and worse because the owner is constantly coming up with ways of tweaking the company's image at the employee's expense (deciding not to allow tips, etc.) He will go years without fixing the cash registers because he knows the front end will have no choice but deal with it, even if the technical difficulties make it much harder for the team to function. Two excellent managers in front end got fired without warning because they made an earnest effort to work around a long term technical problem in a way he didn't like. Image obsessed in a way that's extremely selfish and ungrounded. The music will drive you insane over time. Very demoralizing place to work. I could go on and on.
