Pros

The people who make up Police Now are a genuine joy to work with, being driven and supportive. The Police Now mission in principle is excellent and meaningful and the world life balance for most of the roles is very good with a few caveats.

Cons

The issue with Police Now is that it feels very much like and organisation on the decline. Salaries were strong a few years ago but now are at a point where many members of staff are underpaid when compared to similar roles within comparable sectors. The executive leadership keep staff in the dark on nearly every issue, telling all that everything is fine right up until they can no longer hide it. It feels rather than being mission driven the organisation has become one focused on being optics driven but an inexperienced leadership team. It is a shame as on a personal level they are pleasant people but professionally one can't help be feel they are out of their depth.

Pros

The people who work here are amazing and we all really care about the work we do. A lot of time has been invested into making sure the perks available are great, with great support for wellbeing. Decent pay for the work you put in. Amazing team culture. People are generally keen for feedback which creates an open, honest environment.

Cons

If you are in the programmes team, there is a lot of travel away to deliver our academies which can be disruptive. Can be quite uncertain at times due to the nature of our organisation and so things are always changing.

Pros

- Great recruitment process - Well thought out missions statement - Good training process

Cons

- Mission does not align with actual police stations you're placed in - Looked down by your team as you are on a graduate programme - Sarg/Inspectors have no clue what you are doing or why you're on the programme often frowned upon - Toxic working environment - Disgusting offices - sewage coming from ceilings into the incident and response room - Low pay for the level of responsibility - Shift can often be extended and youre expected to do overtime if needed no work/life balance. - Micromanagement by my Sergeant. - There is no diversity or inclusion - if you're part of a certain group, best keep that to yourself. - If you move for the purpose of the job it may be harder for you to leave so best to not move before you start to ensure you like the job and the people you'll be working with.
