Pros

Some people are nice and in spite of the HAZMAT emergencies nobody has been seriously injured.

Cons

Facts are facts: Across the company, over 50% employee turnover. Leadership just doesn't seem to know what to do. Some in leadership are down right toxic and it seems their ineptitude is directly harming the business. The new company "Kyfora" is foundering and dragging what's left of the business with it. Its just really bad business decision making. A few of the good business leaders have left in the past year/year and a half, I guess they could see what was coming....too bad they couldn't have let us know. I've seen people relocate for jobs here and get laid off within months. Others have joined and within weeks have had the terms of their original employment offer rescinded or substantially changed. Why would you do that to PEOPLE? Work-life balance is horrible. Under resourced (because they had to lay people off) means people are working very long hours. People get called in from their scheduled vacation time - even from personal family events! Managers have even chastised employees for being "unavailable" during their vacation time! This is hand over heart truth. The second generation owners are just not up to the task. The one brother they can't seem to hide quick enough - bounces from one role to another because he embodies toxicity. The other one "runs" the place. A nice guy but and can't sort out leadership ineptitude. Seems like he just lives with it because he afraid to confront a hard conversation and/or can't deal with conflict. He is pretty good at picking out paint colors and organizing parties. I guess he should have gained experience in a company where his dad was the boss and everyone sugar coated things for him. I've been at other companies, and this guy probably wouldn't have made it past junior management. Beyond the business bleeding and toxic managers is the safety. Its absolutely amazing no one has been critically injured. Again, facts are facts: they had a HAZMAT explosion where the local fire department had to destroy all their gear because of contamination. Contractors exposed to fumes on the roof (sorry for the residential neighborhood, small fires, and all the other more "ordinary" injuries. Look if you need a job, its something but don't stop looking. Either they will lay you off or you will need to leave for your own mental and/or physical health.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We value hearing from our employees, past and present, as it helps us to continually improve. We are deeply concerned about the issues you’ve raised and want to address them directly. While we have had people leave voluntarily and involuntarily from the organization as all companies experience, the turnover rate for Polysciences for 2024 to date is 12.5%, against BLS.gov benchmark of 24.2% and our turnover rate for 2023 was 21.8% against the BLS benchmark of 46.2% As far as work-life balance, we strive to respect and support our employees' personal time. The concerns about being contacted during vacations or family events are taken very seriously. Our policy and practice are to ensure that all employees have a work-life balance and are not asked to work or are contacted during their vacation time. As a company, to promote work-life balance, the company offers ½ Day Summer and December Friday’s, 4-day work week schedule, and hybrid work where applicable. The company offers competitive PTO and salaried employees typically work between 40-45 hours per week. Neither Polysciences nor Kyfora are “floundering”, Polysciences has experienced +20% growth over the last five years and expects to exceed budget and prior year performance in 2024, proving the company is in healthy standing. Kyfora products have seen extreme exponential growth in recent years. While 2024 started with challenges, all indications point to a healthy rebound in line with the overall industry. Safety is our #1 priority. We boast an employee led Safety committee that meets monthly and implements and reviews employee suggestions. All employees are required to complete monthly online safety training. We average over 2+ safety suggestions per employee per year (350+ annually). We are proactive and focus on leading versus lagging indicators. Polysciences surpassed over 400 days in 2023-24 without an OSHA recordable injury and have TCIR/LTIR results of less than 0.6, well below industry standard. We take the safety of our employees seriously and have safety measures in place to prevent accidents and create a secure workplace. Our leadership team, including our owner, is committed to making the workplace engaging and enjoyable. We have made significant investment in improving the facilities, including new locker rooms, bathrooms, breakroom, and kitchen area. He strives to keep benefit costs low while providing robust coverage. Our owner genuinely cares about the well-being of the employees and their personal lives.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take concerns about leadership, fairness, and workplace culture seriously, and we’re sorry to hear that this was your experience. We know that even a single review can reflect broader perceptions, and that matters to us. Creating an environment where employees feel respected, supported, and heard is a priority, and we do not want anyone to feel overlooked or undervalued. Like many organizations, we’ve faced challenges—particularly on the sales side—but our teams have remained focused and resilient and we have clear strategies in place to support future growth. At the same time, we recognize that business performance is only part of the picture. The employee experience is equally important, and we are committed to continuously improving in that area. We encourage employees to share feedback through internal channels or directly with HR so we can better understand concerns and take meaningful action. Open dialogue is essential to making progress. We appreciate you sharing your perspective—it helps us continue to learn and improve.
