Pros
- some heckin good dogs - SOME hella cool people among the staff Those are literally the only pros
Cons
where to start... - not enough pay for the amount of work you’re expected to do. Sometimes you won’t even have time for a lunch. Other days you might as well be doing two peoples jobs at once because people are incompetent. Especially on holiday since it’s so packed - Having to beg for any sort of raises. I had to constantly TRY and ask for a raise after a year. And once minimum wage goes up your old raises DONT apply. - New staff makes just as much as someone working there for a year - UPPER MANAGEMENT DATING EACH OTHER. A HUGE no in any work place yet is known and still not being handled. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve had to deal with awkwardness because they both can’t separate work and personal life. Also awful because if one doesn’t like you it’s automatically 2 against 1 upper management vote. Big yikes - Management down playing staff injuries. Got bit and saw the notes that it was minor when bruising happened almost immediately. If the dog lock jawed my forearm I doubt I would be able to function the arm properly. And the best part is the dog was still accepted until he bit a staff member in the face! - Love that I had to double check who was my manager to see who’ll get work done haha! - Having mental break downs because of unnecessary stress on the job. - Workers who are incompetent and get away with things that SHOULD have gotten them fired! Some people aren’t meant to work with animals... - Fix the building. They make money and still never fix anything that needs to be done. The doors most importantly. - constantly going to work angry because I would have to cover not only my normal schedule for daycare/hotel BUT I had to do baths for NO EXTRA PAY. I didn’t get hired to do that and it’s not fair to ask someone who didn’t sign up to do any of that gets thrown into a grooming situation with no one telling you how to properly do it. IF THERE IS NO GROOMER SEND THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE AND STOP SCHEDULING BATHS. - The fact reservation desk lies to customers about being on site when they’re not. They’re based in Chicago and they still get all the information about hours and certain services wrong. THEN having a misinformed customer come to the location FURIOUS about something that none of the staff has any idea about because of res desk. Unbelievable. - No one listening to daycare staff about certain dogs that are problematic and none of this information gets to the customer to recommend training or working on this behavior. - Some incidents aren’t talked about with the owners and then sometimes the dog gets pinked and it’s suddenly a surprise when a parent hears about it because no one told them of incidents that have led to them to be pink - Stop trying to compensate for the lack of pay and appreciation with weird competitions that you think will motivate us. We do the competitions for money. I shouldn’t have to beat my coworkers at something so minuscule for a $25 Amazon gift card.
