Pros

Awesome company and people to work with! Flexibility, great communication, and competitive pay. As a contracted employee, I still felt like part of a team and knew they always had my back. They were always quick to answer questions and concerns and worked with me to address any needs I might have; always open to talking about my ideas of how something might work better.

Cons

There is alot of work available, which could be great, but also hard to fill at times. As a contractor, taxes can also be a nightmare, but they do lend a helping had with that.

Pros

- Easy mobile app to see bookings & set your hours avalible for work -You can accept or decline babysitting bookings -Flat rate for watching children - 1 child $16, 2 children $17, 3 children $18 -Supplies and tools for children to play with offered at orientation

Cons

-Limited booking offered - No formal training - No paperwork or support that has been "contracted" with Poppy - No concrete guarantee from families or Poppy that your booking (babysitting apt) will stay the same during the 24 hours that you should "work" You wake up one morning and expect to work watching ex: 3 children for 5 hours that afternoon and then when you arrive at the house only find that you're needed to only watch 1 child for 2 hours because the family chooses so. That wastes your time, and you don't get the amount of money that you need :( - Families have no obligation to pay you - they can cancel within 24 if they change their mind, choose to only have you watch one child rather than the earlier specified amount & they can ask you to leave early if they want to save money. - Tips (from the families) were promised during orientation (why the cost for watching children is low) but are rarely given by families - Most Seattle families believe that they're paid enough by signing up for Poppy ($60 for a 3 months of booking + whatever they pay you) when they don't factor in transportation, time and the high cost of living within the Seattle area that their caregivers face.
