Pros
Aims to serve the community as a "force for good", so there is a sense of pride in providing a valuable service. Good renumeration package in head office and generous vacation breaks. Lovely dedicated staff working in the branches.
Cons
A known practice of nepotism exists, so unless your face "fits" you will not get the same opportunities for roles or promotions. This is especially true if you come from a BAME background, it's an unconscious bias.
