Pros
Retail experience and informal interviews.
Cons
Head Office constantly change prices at a rate that it too much to keep up with in bigger stores, this leads to floor staff bearing the brunt of customer dissatisfaction with being charged a different price on shelf. This could be resolved if price changes were allowed but staff, even management can be given a disciplinary for reducing a price. Also could be fixed by giving larger stores a bigger budget so they have more floor staff to deal with the constant delivery of stock and constant price changes. Pricing guns often fail and are frustrating to use. Area manager has no respect for staff. Store managers are paid very little and are not offered raises and are shot down immediately when it is mentioned without being offered advice on how to get a raise. Key holder's and supervisor's are not offered any benefit to taking on more responsibility and are paid the same as floor staff, so most of these jobs are taken after being guilt tripped into them, and leaves these roles hard to fill as there is no benefit to taking them.
