Part of RTX

Is this your company?

8200. The worst job I've ever had. Blatant Internal wage inequality. Benefits are always changing. Extremely political. - CNC Machine Operator Pratt & Whitney Employee Review

Pros

Not many. They offered a nice education benefit, however while I was utilizing this benefit it was discontinued. Pratt and Whitney put me in debt without warning me. The paid time off is good...you'll need it. Anual BBQ and gift.

Cons

Overtime is nonexistent Constant problems with my paycheck. I didn't get a 90 day review. I only got a 35 cent raise after a year, despite having an exemplary quality and attendance record. Processes are antiquated for the level of production desired. Engineers do not communicate with people on the floor. The Blueprints look childish and are often incorrect. Benefits are not what they appear to be and are occasionally altered or taken away completely. The climate control system does not work. Parking! Most days I had to park a full mile from the area I worked in. If I was late because of it then I would lose my shift differential that day. Management didn't care. Unchecked Harrasment. I was harrassed and spoke up about it. Management and human resources did nothing. The reason I quit.

Pros

Concern for Safety is a legitimate priority. The work is very process oriented and theres little uncertainty or chaos in the day to day. Theres a formalized way of doing everything. Work-life balance is good for the american standard.

Cons

The company is 100+ years old so the way things get done is over-constrained and very resistant to change. As a result work can be monotonous and Information, while abundant, is extremely difficult to reliably retreive. You will work harder not smarter.
