Pros

The more you work the more you make Work as a team

Cons

Full commission, Door to door sales. 12 hour days 6 days a week All the adds online that say management training or customer service representative are all the same entry-level position Pyramid Scheme Recruiters bend the truth and avoid answering hard questions to get you to come in and meet the manager (they get bonuses for interviews they book) They’d hire someone without a high school Diploma and then tell someone with their masters that they’re wrong for turning down the “great opportunity” Lied to me about compensation all the way up until my first day of work I’ve never felt so manipulated by a company in my life. No benefits

Pros

Personal Growth - when I came in around late February this year I was very reserved and introverted. The people in the office helped me assimilate quickly and now I feel more confident in my personal relationships. I wish I could repay them all for the love they showed me. Communication/Marketing Skills - the skills you learn to communicate with potential customers are PRICELESS. I use these skills not only to inform home owners of the benefits of clean energy, but also help them break down the complexity of the energy market. Leadership/Mgmt Development - you will have a lot of responsibility in and outside of the office. You get experience managing a group of people and developing their marketing skills. You also get experience in the fundamentals of running a corporation.

Cons

If you’re not willing to put effort into your career, this may not be the path for you. The hours and commission have never been a problem for me because I kept a good student mentality, learned from the best guys in the office and know that I’m currently building towards a bigger goal of owning an office. My friends and family have supported me this whole time and I’ve never had this type of financial freedom before. It’s a merit-based business - you get out what you put in.
