Pros

The only pros would be the daily schedule. You go in at 9 and leave at 4 but its fully in office.

Cons

Compensation is below market for the level of responsibility expected. New employees are often placed into the field with no onboarding, direction, or structured support. Requests for clarification or guidance can be perceived negatively, which creates an environment where people may feel hesitant to ask questions. There also appears to be low openness to feedback or process improvement. Employees who offer new ideas or suggest changes may feel discouraged from speaking up. Team dynamics can feel highly competitive rather than collaborative, and interpersonal tensions across teams contribute to a stressful atmosphere. The workplace culture includes a noticeable amount of gossip and internal comparison, which can create anxiety and uncertainty about job stability. Additionally, leadership can sometimes feel distant or unapproachable, with limited day-to-day acknowledgment or engagement with staff. Overall, the environment may feel tense and lacking in psychological safety for some employees.

Pros

Culture: By far the best part of this company is the culture. The different combinations of personalities centered behind our freedom to converse throughout the day makes it really hard to not make friends here. The company cares about culture more than almost any other aspect which is extremely important for overall morale and it shows with the amount of activities that get planned through the year with potlucks, games and an end of the year Christmas party. Opportunity: People might disagree with me on this, but I think it’s absolutely true. Everyone has an opportunity here. PFM has an open-door policy where managers and even the CEO will listen to anyone regarding ideas, strategy, questions and even encourage it. Not saying you will be head of your department in less than a year, but if you work hard enough and show your value you can make something of it and countless people have done that here. I was given these opportunities as well, some I took advantage of, some I didn’t so you’ll get your chance you just have to prove it. Franchise Owners/ Events: Here we oversee over 170 franchise owners around the U.S which can be a bit overwhelming but overall very satisfactory work. It feels even better when you make personal connections with some of these owners and watch them grow and succeed first hand and the effect you had on that. It’s also great when our yearly convention is over, working with the team to get everything in order for the franchises and vendors is incredibly fulfilling. Work Hours: Another great perk is the hours. They aren’t even full 40 hour work weeks and not having to start so early in the day is very rare to find in the workplace and it really makes the work days go by quickly. Freedom: One of the biggest nightmares when you start a new job is the potential lack of freedom and the overwhelming feeling of being micromanaged all day. You don’t have to worry about that here whatsoever, and when you’re given tasks or deadlines you aren’t being reminded constantly about it because of the freedom and trust they have in you to do it.

Cons

PTO/ Remote: While the hours are fantastic, the PTO can be better. PTO and sick days for new employees are definitely lower than the average company, however the accrual gets better in the 2nd year but the sick days don’t. The remote work is complicated, they are very adamant about coming into the office which they do clearly and fairly state before you are hired in the interview process so as long as you’re okay with that then it shouldn’t be of concern. While the PTO is a con, the hours are a plus so they cancel out a bit.

Pros

PFM was the first company to take a chance on me right out of college and I will always be grateful for the opportunity. The support and trust placed in me allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. I built meaningful connections within this workplace—relationships that I will carry with me even beyond my time at PFM. I was fortunate to work with patient and understanding colleagues who guided me along the way. Collaborating with the marketing team was one of the highlights of my experience. I developed a strong connection with them, and our teamwork made every project exciting and rewarding.

Cons

There is significant potential for growth within this company, and growth is never a bad thing. While aspects like remote work, PTO, and sick days could be improved—as they could in many workplaces—I also recognize that perspectives on remote work vary. However, as the company continues hiring younger professionals, offering flexibility could be an appealing incentive. During my time at PFM, I often took on tasks outside my job title, which, while a testament to the trust placed in me, sometimes made it challenging to focus on my core responsibilities. I appreciated the opportunity to contribute in different areas, but it could become overwhelming at times. Shortly before I made the decision to move, my manager left to pursue another opportunity. As a result, I found myself managing both my workload and theirs, which added to the challenge.
