Pros
There are great people who work hard in the sales and service departments, and that was the best part of the job. The service and sales managers are great to work with and try hard to get better for the employees, but they can only do so much. The work is easy if you have experience in the auto industry. If not, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
Cons
No formal on-the-job training. The service department is poorly staffed. There is some computer-based training the owner wants you to do on your own time, without pay. The benefits are a bare minimum. You cannot take any vacation time for one year. You rarely get a proper lunch break, yet you can't eat at your desk. If there is a holiday during a regular business day, that replaces day off for that week, but it is paid. Be careful taking on additional responsibility here, it is unlikely you will be paid or appreciated for it by the owner. The owner is known for screaming at his employees, even in front of customers.
