Pros
Some interesting projects, some excellent team members during my time. Generally left to your own devices as long as work gets done.
Cons
Some people are out of their depth in their role. Design team giving technical solutions to clients without talking to the technical team first. The biggest issue i faced by far is the resounding lack of communication outside of my team. There is no overall plan or knowledge about what work or clients are in the pipeline, you don't know about any upcoming work until it needs to be done, which makes preparing solutions incredibly difficult. As mentioned the technical team is often left out of discussions and planning until the last moment. Management enjoys radio silence and kicking the can down the road as a solution to staff asking for things such as raises.
