Pros

It was great when they promoted a culture that was fun and had fair internal work ethic and values. There was lots of recognition and incentive pre-pandemic.

Cons

There are still consistent bonuses for head office. It became a very junior place to work. The blind leading the blind. Loss of core knowledge and general ineptitude. Generally a poor relationship with the UK leadership, no support. DEI initiatives are a complete fail, diversity is store level, and they talk alot about culture without walking the walk. Senior management has no clue what people do and hires external people with no industry experience. Departments are burned out and they throw money at all the wrong places. Core digital Systems are a mess and IT is a mess because its outsourced overseas. Senior leadership does whatever they want, if you are in the right clique.

Pros

My experience working at Pret A Manger as a Team Leader was extremely stressful. During the hiring process, I was told I would have at least one weekend day off, but that promise was not kept. The workload was overwhelming. The company frequently operated while short-staffed, and there was constant pressure to work double shifts. The pay did not reflect the level of responsibility expected of a Team Leader. Another issue was the work culture. If you called out sick or needed time off, there was often pressure to come in, even on your scheduled days off. I also did not enjoy the location where I worked, and I did not feel that the company valued or respected its employees.

Cons

You get free food the only good part of working here.
