Pros

I by far got the best on-the-job training I have ever received, learning about reproductive health, medical care, and feminist counseling/patient support. I have fallen back on my my Preterm training throughout my career, even after moving on. I also got to work with an amazing group of women, in an environment where everyone was supportive of one another.

Cons

It takes a large amount of self-care to see the realities of social in-justice played out for our patients every day. Adding to this injustice is the way abortion and women's health care is underfunded and under supported in today's social/political climate.

Pros

-The cause--if you care about abortion, if you want to support people getting abortions, this is the job for you. -The people: staff are in general good people who care a lot. Always someone to talk to if you need support or just want to laugh for a second. -Good pay and benefits -Union workplace -Letting people move up and develop professionally -LGBTQ friendly, committed to diversity in hiring

Cons

-General nonprofit problems: communication struggles, maintaining work/life boundaries, working with a budget, etc. -A lot of turnover in the last few years in management and leadership. -Organization grew without modernizing at scale and now has to get caught up. -Politically charged environment in Ohio, constant scrutiny from the general public. -Protesters will yell at you daily and generally be harassing and disruptive. -Stressful and always something going on
