Pros

Work from home (not a scam), pays well, owner of company was nice while employed with them.

Cons

Unfortunately, the company is just very unorganized. Constant changes in upper-level mean disarray in smaller departments. Managers were not very adept, meaning that employees often felt they were working harder than they needed to because completed projects that took days of work were often just never reviewed. Owner and higher ups constantly mentioned how important you were to the company, but never fulfilled on that with action of any kind to prove it.

Pros

Mature senior management with decades of experience. CEO is very knowledgeable and extremely driven/passionate about the product and company and he literally drives the company. (which also means that there aren't as many other folks as dedicated as him). Ability to work remotely, but i hear they are getting an office now even though folks aren't required to be there because most of the team is all over the US. There is mutual respect for each other, feedback is generally well-taken and people have an understanding culture.

Cons

since the folks higher up are from a couple generations ago, that's how they like to run their 'startup'. i.e. it isn't run by college kids and certainly won't feel like it. It's a professional, mature corporation that likes to think its a startup. working remotely can become dicey since emotions dont translate well through email or chat so it may become tricky to express things clearly. lack of communication and transparency from management. you will be given projects and daily duties to work on and other than that might have very little idea about where the company is going and how is it getting there. The culture isnt as open as one would expect from a 'small' startup.
