Thank you for taking time to provide a review. Pro-Demnity is indeed a small company with under 35 full-time staff, most in highly specialized roles. The organization is relatively flat with a small executive team, and very few middle-management positions. Majority of staff are already highly experienced coming into their roles. Pro-Demnity does offer professional development opportunities so that employees may continue to grow and learn and apply their knowledge. We also conduct an Employee Engagement Survey every six months through Gallup. Over the last two years, our Gallup survey scores have continuously improved, with staff consistently indicating that leaders are responsive, and foster a productive, team-based environment focused on our values of trust, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Pros

1. Welcoming and Supportive From day one, my manager went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They took me out to lunch, introduced me to the team, and made sure I felt welcome right away. 2. Fully Included in the Team I wasn’t just sitting in the background—I was included in all the important meetings, which made me feel like I was already a key part of the team. It helped me get up to speed quickly and understand the bigger picture. 3. Clear Knowledge Transfer My manager set up dedicated time for knowledge transfer and ensured I had all the resources to succeed. I never felt left in the dark or unsure of where to go next. 4. Genuine Support and Motivation The level of support I received was incredible. My manager was always there to answer questions, offer guidance, and motivate me. It was clear they were invested in my success and wanted me to thrive. 5. Instant Comfort and Ease I’ve never felt so at ease starting a new job. The onboarding process was smooth, and I never felt overwhelmed. From day one, I felt like I was in the right place and set up for success.

Cons

none at all, except the Toronto traffic maybe

Thank you for sharing your review. Since 2021 the organization has worked hard to put a more formalized Onboarding and Orientation process in place, with senior leaders collaborating closely with HR to make the experience smoother for new employees. Although we're a small organization, we make every effort to put programs in place that you would find in a large corporation and strive to support our employees across their career journey with us.

Pros

Staff are really knowledgeable on liability insurance and there is a high degree of specialization by field. Everyone is professional and helpful. CEO is accessible, and there are monthly staff meetings, so you know what's going on. Leadership really cares about Diversity, Inclusivity and Equity. Last year they rolled out The Total Rewards Program, and management is pretty transparent.

Cons

This is an organization that specializes only in professional liability insurance, so it's great if this is what you love to do.

Thank you for your review! Your perspective regarding our focus on professional liability insurance for architects only is appreciated. Pro-Demnity is indeed a niche insurance provider to only the architecture profession, resulting in an organization with a high degree of knowledge and specialization. That said, recent new hires have come to us from a variety of career backgrounds and are making positive contributions that enhance the organization's culture and capacity to better serve architects. Thank you as well for noting that we place high importance on Diversity, Inclusivity, and Equity. Employees can join an anti-racism task force, and the company has encouraged participation in unconscious bias, and truth and reconciliation presentations to name a few.
