Pros
Some colleagues are genuinely kind and dedicated, trying their best within a challenging environment.
Cons
- Staff are not respected or treated fairly. There's an unspoken expectation to be available constantly, yet no recognition or additional time off to compensate for this. - Leadership oversteps boundaries, even going so far as to comment on how employees should manage their personal lives. In one all-staff meeting, we were told not to be “100% vegan” if eating vegetarian would save 15 minutes—suggesting we use that time to do more work. Completely inappropriate and disconnected from reality. - For such a large and well-known organization, compensation is surprisingly low. - The structure is extremely hierarchical. Leadership does not create space for genuine input from staff, and decisions are made in silos without transparency. - Promotions are driven by favoritism and nepotism. White men are disproportionately favored for advancement, and there's a clear lack of diversity in leadership.
