Pros

Some of the customers. The ones who were regulars to Costco would actually come up to you and ask how you were doing, how you were feeling, etc.

Cons

Everything. - Long hours standing and doing nothing. - No water allowed with you at your station, but if you close up your table to get a drink or go to the bathroom, you get in trouble. - You get in trouble if the product you are demoing does not sell well. You're OBVIOUSLY not doing your job. Yeah...has nothing to do with the fact that not many people were interested in buying whatever you were demoing that day..... - The boss CONSTANTLY played favorites and gave the good demos to the ones that kissed her butt the most. Backstabbing gossiping co-workers. The boss literally mocking a woman who was injured on the job behind her back. - Say goodbye to any social life you had, because you basically become their slave. You could be scheduled to have a day off, check the schedule five minutes later and see that you've been added, cancelling whatever plans you had made for your day off. - Also, my boss was a major cow. who was constantly in a bad mood and took her bad mood out on her employees. She actually cursed out one of my co-workers ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS, over something minor that my co-worker didn't even do!

Pros

Great place to build technical skills and gain exposure to international markets. The team is collaborative, and managers are supportive of professional development. Work-life balance can be challenging during quarter-end, but overall the experience has been rewarding. The learning curve is steep, yet it pays off if you’re looking to strengthen both your analytical and communication skills

Pros

You get to meet and talk to all sorts of people You get to try and work with a variety of products Reasonable hours and pay Work isn't overly difficult

Cons

Some customers and Costco employees can be extremely rude and occasionally abuse their privileges (yelling at you and demanding things; cutting in front of others to get samples; letting their children jump around or hang off demo stations, even if there are hot ovens or sharp knives being used there) Upper management changes rules and policies too frequently (water bottles allowed at station, then not allowed, then allowed under special circumstances, then not allowed again) Expectations set by upper management can be overly difficult or impossible to meet (regardless of situation, set up and clean up should take 15 minutes, and sample tray should always be full) Vendors can have unrealistic expectations (push products constantly, even to people who can't use them; sell thousands of dollars of merchandise in a day, even if customers are saying it's too expensive)
