Pros

My coworkers were amazing people.

Cons

* Everything expressed below is my opinion from my personal experience.* As I write this review, my goal is not to be mean or intentionally hurt anyone’s feelings, and to speak truth. I want to be clear the I ended my time at Project 615 on my own terms. I was not fired. There has been a trend in the past that Derek Evans, the owner and CEO, tells new employees and those outside the company that he has fired people who have in fact left on their own doing. During my employment with Project 615, I watched 11 people (great people, and great friends) leave the company. They did not leave for better jobs, or new opportunities. They left because they were tired of the abuse that they were experiencing from Derek Evans. They were treated terribly (name calling, swearing, personal attacks on their character, and attacks on their families.) Not one of these people were fired from Project 615. Derek Evans runs a company that tells those on the outside it is focus on spreading love and being a good neighbor. On the inside, Derek uses intimidation and fear to belittle and degrade his employees. He is a small man that is overly focused on his appearance and power. He is exceptionally disrespectful and hateful towards women. Project 615 has a slogan that every purchase matters. That is not true. Only a small portion of its sales actually go to supporting that causes it claims. They often market themselves at hiring people in recovery and addition, but in my time at Project 615, there was not one employee that fell into this category. In June of 2019, I watched as the entire retail team (except 1) including the director of retail leave the company because of the treatment they had received. Never in my professional career have I seen people leave a place of employment like I have seen and experienced at Project 615. It truly makes me sad. I believe the company has so much potential to do great things, but with the consistent and constant turnover and abuse from Derek Evans, I am weary to believe it will ever happen. I sincerely believe that the 5 star reviews posted in early July were done so by Derek in hopes of improving his glass door rating. Derek has used fake accounts in the past to troll former employees that decided to leave Project 615. The patterns that Derek Evans displays are toxic and have no place in the work environment. Cameras line the office, retail, and warehouse causing employees to act in fear instead of trust. Project 615 is not a safe place. My hope is that Derek Evans will change. That he will learn from his past mistakes and that he will lead his team with love and kindness. I would plead with anyone thinking they want to work here to use extreme caution. This is not a place I would recommend to friends, family, or even acquaintances.

Pros

The people are top notch! The pay is ok but it's retail and it was a part time gig for me.

Cons

The hours weren't great but I knew that going in.

Pros

Everyone that works or has worked at Project 615 (outside of the owner) are genuinely wonderful human beings that are striving to make the world a better place. I met GREAT people here, all of which have moved on from this terrible company.

Cons

Project 615 has great potential that it will never realize as long as the owner, Derek Evans, is at the helm. He uses the mission-oriented fundraising model that 615 boasts about to build personal clout while simultaneously berating and demeaning every single person on his staff. He holds meetings on how to improve as a company and person, and then a few days later is in someones' face about nothing. I've personally seen the owner get in shouting matches with employees to the point where physical violence seemed imminent. He's acted out and thrown tantrums at 615-hosted events several times, once so vehemently that an officer intervened. I write all this with the hope that I can save even one person from experiencing this company's dirty secret, RUN in the other direction. You don't have to work at Project 615 to "Spread Love the Nashville Way™".
